Facebook Inc has launched a new app for couples called “Tuned” that allows a person to chat, share photos, music and have a timeline of shared memories with their partner.
The messaging app is currently available only on Apple’s App Store in the United States and Canada, according to data from industry website Sensor Tower. The launch comes at a time where many around the world are isolated.
Facebook’s New Product Experimentation (NPE) team, which created Tuned, describes the app as “a private space where you and your significant other can just be yourselves”, although upon review it appears to be more of an online scrapbooking app.
NPE was created last year in order to focus on developing and launching more experimental consumer-focused apps. In February, the team launched a photo and video sharing app, “Hobbi”.
Tuned is currently ranked at 872 most popular in the US and 550th most popular in Canada in the social networking category, Sensor Tower said.
