Interested to read that the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) has been working on a mobile phone app with Google and Apple that the British government hopes will help in ending the lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.Â
The system will use Bluetooth technology to alert those who have the app if they have been in close proximity with someone who has been tested positive for COVID-19, the Sunday Times newspaper reported, citing senior sources.
Bluetooth is a wireless technology standard used for exchanging data over short distances using short-wavelength UHF radio waves. Its range is typically about 10 metres, making it highly relevant to this type of implementation.
