According to a number of Russian news agencies, the country no longer plans to block the Twitch platform over allegations of illegal streaming of popular English Premier League football games.

On Monday, a court in Russia blocked the Amazon-owned Twitch’s access to the football broadcasts after Rambler media, an outlet with the rights stated that it would sue the company for 180 billion Roubles, currently the equivalent of $2.88 billion over piracy.

The Russian media group has said that there were some 36,000 cases where Twitch had violated its rights to broadcast the EPL games across Russia. Rambler had acquired the broadcasting rights from specialist Russian broadcaster Match-TV.
