E-commerce and single-copy report sales (part three)

The Related Reports functionality could be powered by an Enterprise-class search engine such as Apache SOLR, or similar. Simply use the facetted search to return the relevant results here.

CHATBOT INTEGRATION – It is imperative that the page features a Chatbot, such as Live Chat functionality that pops up after the visitor has lingered for more than 20 seconds on the page. This will generate live leads for the sales team, even if the visitor is in an entirely separate time-zone.

The key to success with Chatbots is to ensure that the script you provide to the supplier is bulletproof and aims to garner the contact details (minimum of name, company Email and/or call back number) and the name of the specific report they are interested in purchasing.

Report Sales

Payment Gateways

E-commerce is necessary for online transactions both for the subscription product and for any single-copy report sales. In order to process Credit Card transactions all businesses require a Payment Gateway of some form.

A Payment Gateway is in itself simply a merchant service provided by a software application that interfaces with financial institutions to either authorise, or decline a transaction, based on the key information the end user has submitted.

In Australia, example Payment Gateways include PayPal, Stripe, eWay, SecurePay, Pin Payments. In the UK and/or US the likes of 2Checkout, SagePay, Authorize.net, WorldPay, et cetera. Many more exist and the options are often dictated to you by the bank you are using for your Merchant account, or Merchant Bureau account.
